Medical dossier of renowned Iranian director to be finalized in days

Talking to reporters, he said the organization has set up various expert working groups in various medical fields to get to better results.

He said a number of the working groups have already produced the results of their investigations.

He also noted that he had already corresponded with his French counterpart Patrick Bouet and urged him to send the medical dossier of the internationally-acclaimed film director but received no answer yet

He said it would be very difficult to identify Kiarostami’s final cause of death in absence of French documents.

Demise of the 76-year-old award-winning filmmaker caused deep grief for Iranian artistic circles as well as the whole nation.

Kiarostami passed away in France on July 4 in Paris, where he had been receiving treatment for cancer.

A few days after leaving Tehran, he succumbed to a stroke in Paris.
