Jahangiri: Media must promote national understanding, religious values

He made the remarks in a meeting with graduates of IRNA School of Media Studies.

Jahangiri said the media policy of the government focused on promoting national understanding and defending the religious and national values.

He made clear that national interest would be guaranteed by the media if the media affiliated to the government, the governing system and the official tribunes worked away from the partisan interests.

Congratulating the Iranian reporters and journalists on the Reporter's Day, Jahangiri hoped that government will be able to lift impediments on the way of the media activists to serve the goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the economic, cultural and social development.
