Iron Age Architectural Remains discovered in N. eastern Iran

The Public Relations Office of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT), quoted the head of the archeological team as saying the scientific-academic archaeological explorations being conducted by the Archeology Department of Neyshabour University would continue for about two months.

The scientific-academic explorations aimed at conducting a practical part of the archeological course by the students as well as stratigraphing of the ancient site and determining the limits of Seh Tappeh area, he added.

Recognizing the culture and economy of the people of Neyshabour in the Iron Age, which is known as the Yaz culture in archaeology as well as specifying cultural and trans-regional communications with the neighboring regions such as the Central Asia, are among other targets of the explorations, he said.
