In his message on Tuesday, the Iranian president congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev who received 70.76 percent of votes on June 9 election.

The former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev stepped down after thirty years in office in March.

President Rouhani wished prosperity for the people of Kazakhstan and expressed hope that the bilateral relations would flourish during his tenure.
