Iranians return full-handed from Ibestff

The first and second Best Animated Short Film awards went respectively to 'Balance' (2018) by Barzan Rostami and 'Empty View' (2017) by Ali Zare Qanatnoei. 'Genesis' (2017) by Abtin Mozafari received the second Best Experimental Short Film award, ibestff.com wrote.

This is while 'Prophet' (2017) by Marion Petegnief was awarded the first Best Experimental Short Film.

Best Indie Short Film award was given to 'Water Demon' (2018), directed by Cristian Tomassini.

Jonathon Kane received the Best Short Film award for his film 'The Concourse' (2018).

The Indie Best Films Festival (Ibestff) was founded by a group of independent filmmakers from Santa Mónica (California) and New York City for independent filmmakers from around the world.

According to the festival's website, the festival aims to 'help talented film artists, who create meaningful films that are worth seeing and sharing, but lack the backing of studios, expensive marketing campaigns or famous personalities'.
