Nine Iranian students, divided into two teams, participated at the Olympiad held in China.

The first team managed to grab five first place medals and the second team bagged one gold medal and three silvers.

At the competitions held last year in Thailand, Iranian students won one gold medal, three silvers and one bronze, ranking third.
