Abouzar Ebrahimi-Torkaman made the remarks in a meeting held in Japan with President of Japanese Kogakkan University Kiyoshi Shimizu on the sidelines of the first round of Iran-Japan religious and cultural dialogue.

Ebrahimi-Torkaman appreciated efforts by Japan’s Ise Temple in supporting the dialogue meeting which 'will prepare the ground for further understanding about the two sides’ cultures.'

The Iranian cultural official added that both Iranian and Japanese people are eager to learn more about each others’ cultures, the eagerness which has led to development of bilateral friendly ties.

The official hoped the two parties would hold the next round of Iran-Japan religious and cultural dialogue in Iran.

For his part, the president of Kogakkan University expressed hope that the dialogue meeting would pave the way for fostering bilateral cooperation.

Recently, Iran and Japan by holding different meetings and exhibitions marked the 90th anniversary of establishment of bilateral relations.
