Iran to host International Disabled Theatre Festival

He made the remarks in inauguration ceremony for 5th disable regional theatre festival in Shahr-e-Kord.
The official said that more than 1.3 million disabled people are supported by WO and among them 50,000 disables are kept by the centers are under art-therapy activities.

He said that 2,000 disables are working professionally in the sector of theatre.

Art-therapy is a new method among clients of WO; he said that the interest shown by artists for disabled theatre, there is hope that premium movies of disableds may enter Fajr Film Festival next year.

He said art and theatre may increase capabilities of disableds and holding cultural activities will strengthen happiness and vibrancy among them.

The 5th Disableds Regional Theatre Festival by participation of artists from Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Alborz, Markazi and Charmahal-Bakhtiari provinces kicked off on March 3 and will last until March 6 in the city of Shahr-e-Kord.

In the festival, 20 works from 123 received works will be displayed.
