Speaking on the sidelines of the annual event, Mohammad Hossein Soltani said renal surgeries are carried out with state-of-the-art equipment in Iran.
He went on to say, 'Reference books from across the globe have mentioned several instances of our endourology techniques.'
Iran is one of the world's leading hubs which has made significant progress in providing less invasive procedures to remove kidney stone, he added.
Endourology is one of the branches of urology in which kidney and urinary tract problems are treated using endoscopy. Unlike open surgery, in endourology surgical instruments are sent to the kidneys, bladder and ureter through very small holes.
Laparoscopy is a procedure which enables examining abdomen or pelvis through small incisions and, if need be, performing small-scale surgeries.
