Iran-Pak media cooperation to boost bilateral ties: Senior Pak journalist

In an interview with IRNA, Masood Malik said media play an important role in promoting soft image of the countries through projecting developmental stories, prioritizing the national interest.

“We can also cooperate with each other in the field of media as media brings the world together, media of both countries can play very important role in bringing people together,” he added.

The official went on to say that Iran and Pakistan both are Muslim countries; they are neighbors and have very old traditional brotherly relations, there are so many things in common in them.

“Iran is not a new country or society for us, for centuries we have been living together in harmony,” he said.

Masood Malik expressing his views said being neighbor we should have very good relations. He noted that Pakistan has always extended cooperation and assistance to the Iranian people and the government.

“Whenever there is any problem in Iran we feel it as our own problem and whenever Pakistan has any problem like earthquake or flood we get support and help from our Iranian brothers,” said the senior journalist.

He added both countries are very close to each other and their relationship should further cemented and we should find out the ways and means for further cooperation.

“Both the governments should encourage economic cooperation between the two countries and I think Iranian investors should come to Pakistan to invest their money here and similarly Pakistan investors should find out the areas where they can invest their money in Iran,” said the official.

He said: We have launched the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and Pakistan would like to get Iran engaged in that project.

Masood Malik said that Muslim world has already suffered a lot due to their differences. “Leadership of the Muslim countries should try to solve their problems through peaceful negotiations and they shouldn’t undermine the authority of each other,” he viewed.

“We like to see unity among the Muslim countries and I don’t endorse that they should invite other countries to intervene in their affairs,” he said.
