Iran mass produces sniper rifle: Army commander

Referring to the fact that army ground force designs and produces weaponry according to needs and missions, Brigadier General Massoud Zavarei said that, “Numerous sniper rifles in different calibers have been designed and produced so far.”

Zavarei added, “After passing the field tests, the weapons are mass produced by Iran’s Ministry of Defence.”

Shaher is an Iranian-made 14.5mm sniper rifle, weighing 22 kilograms (49 lb). It is 1.85 meters (6.1 ft) long with a target shooting range of 3 km.
