Iran launches calligraphy office affiliated to UNESCO

Master of calligraphy Mohammad Heidari was appointed as secretary and a number of other masters were selected as members of the council.

Identifying documents remaining from the prominent calligraphers in the past, introducing the Iranian calligraphy as a precious and intangible heritage to the world, strengthening related international and national cooperation and holding exhibitions of calligraphy under the global standards are among the plans of the council.

Persian Calligraphy is among the perfect symbols of identity of the Iranian art which is well-known to the world.

Nasta'liq is the most famous form of Persian Calligraphy.
