The event was held with the attendance of Iranian director Majid Majidi as a jury member and directors of the Iranian movies of ‘Tehran: City of Love’ and ‘Iro’.

Some 775 movies from 85 countries have been nominated for Tiantan Award.

‘Tehran: City of Love’ narrates the story of three disenchanted characters: an ex-champion bodybuilder, an overweight beauty clinic secretary and a dispirited religious singer, yearning for love and connection in Tehran.

“Tiantan Award includes 10 awards: Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music and Best Visual Effects,” according to BJIFF website.

“Art films with market potential or commercial films with artistic value will be preferred,” it added.
