During this festival, directors of documentaries from Italy, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Poland, Portugal, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Ukraine, Netherlands, China, Egypt, Romania, Colombia, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ireland, Finland, Serbia, Sweden and South Africa are participating.

Australia, South Korea, Japan, Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Hungary, Armenia, Bosnia, Belarus, Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, Norway, Slovakia, Cyprus, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Cuba, Uruguay, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Palestine, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Afghanistan and Pakistan are among other countries that are applying for the festival.

The International Festival Selection Board has since begun reviewing these films and the list will shortly be announced in various international sections.

The 12th International Festival of Iranian Documentary Film (Cinema Truth) will be held in Tehran December 9-16, 2012.
