Earthquake jolts southwestern Iran

According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremors occurred at 18:45 to 19:06 on Saturday afternoon and their magnitudes were 4.3, 3.6, 4.2, 3.5 and 3.2 on Richter scale.

Also two earthquakes measuring 2.7 jolted cities of Shoshtar and Susa.

Director General for Khuzestan province Crisis Management Headquarters Kiamarth Hajizadeh said there is no immediate report on possible casualties or damages.

He said that following the tremors, governorates of four cities declared alert.

In the past several months more than 100 earthquakes occurred in Gouriyeh region.

The region is in north of Khuzestan.
