A video has recently gone viral in the social media, showing a dog being dragged behind a car in the streets of the provincial capital city of Ardebil in northwestern Iran.
The video has caused a public outrage, prompting the judicial officials in the province to sue the perpetrator.
'A judicial case has been opened and the perpetrator identified and summoned to the court,' Nasser Atabati said.
The public prosecutor's office is quick to react against any measures that tend to hurt public feelings, Atabati added.
