Commemoration ceremony held for Abbas Kiarostami in Austria

Iranian cultural attaché in Vienna Mohammadreza Vasfi and Iranian resident director in Vienna Houshang Allahyari made speeches during the event.

On Kiarostami's important position in cinema, Allahyari said that Austria should be proud of paying tribute to the acclaimed Iranian filmmaker.

Messages from Iranian Minister of Culture Ali Jannati and Austrian Federal Minister for Education, Arts and Culture on Kiarostami demise were read out in the ceremony.

Kiarostami died at the age of 76 on July 4 in a Paris hospital.
