Azeri media official urges unification among Islamic media

Aflatun Amashov in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) referred to the efforts made by western media to stigmatize Islamic nations, saying, 'Islamic media should introduce the realities of Islamic countries to the world in an appropriate manner.'

He added that the Islamic media should fully exploit their capabilities to bear their responsibilities and benefit Islamic countries.

Referring to the agreement between Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Azerbaijan’s Press Council, he also said, 'Several conferences will be held in Tehran and Baku with the attendance of Iranian and Azeri representatives.'

'The agreement considers the media in border regions of the two countries which will be discussed in the conferences,' he said.

He said that a meeting will be held between the representatives of the media in the Caspian Sea littoral states in the future.
