Armenian director: Iran cinema enjoys 'great status' in world

Talking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Keshishyan voiced his eagerness to cooperate with the Iranian cinema in future.

Pointing to the two countries' cultural commonalties, he added that the Armenian side is keen on boosting cooperation with Iran in the cinematic arenas.

Referring to the Iran-Armenia joint film 'Yeva' directed by Anahid Abad, the acclaimed Armenian director welcomed screening of Iranian films in Armenia.

He added that the Iranian cinema features spiritual films which have their own fans.

He also described the late internationally-acclaimed Iranian film director Abbas Kiarostami as the best director he has ever known.
