Armenia Film Week begins in Tehran

This is the first time Iran and Armenia are gathering together to hold educational workshops and screen films in order to introduce Armenian cinema, Head of Central Association of Cinematic Critics and Writers Keyvan Kasirian said in the opening ceremony.

The Armenia Film Week will also be held in Shiraz and Mashad in coordination with International Department of Iran’s Art and Experimental Cinema as well as Armenian embassy in Tehran.

Through the week, which will end next Saturday, feature and short films as well as documentaries will be screened.

Armenian ambassador in Tehran Artashes Tomanian in the ceremony said that given the cultural commonalities between the two countries, Iran and Armenia should prepare the ground for a better understanding of each other.
