According to a report by Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on Tuesday, the test which is run by the country's National Organization for Educational Testing is the only official Persian language test approved by Iranian and non-Iranian universities and companies.
Holding a degree in SAMFA is required for studying in Iranian universities, obtaining a visa, obtaining a residence permit and establishing a commercial office in Iran.
The test is categorized into general and academic training which need to be passed for immigration and work in Iran and studying at Iranian universities respectively.
Both categories test the applicants' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
SAMFA will be held in Bangladesh (Dhaka), Turkey (Ankara), Lebanon (Beirut), Iraq (Najaf, Erbil), Georgia (Tbilisi) and also in the Iranian cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Qazvin, Sanandaj, Babolsar and Hamedan.
