4.4 Richter scale earthquake jolts Shousf city in S. Khorasan

According to the report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 14:30:16 hour’s local time (10:00 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 60.19 degrees longitude and 31.76 degrees latitude and in depth of 9 kilometers underground.

Shousf city is located 165 kilometers south of Birjand, capital of the province.

Director General for provincial Crises Management Abul Hassan Mir Jalili told IRNA that since Tuesday morning the area had been jolted 12 times in three cases of which were over 3 Richter and the rest were under three.

Considering the situation all executive bodies of the province are in full alert for next 48 hours and there is no place for concern, he said.
