4.4 magnitude quake shakes Hormuzgan province

According to the seismology center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 23:45:47 hours local time Sunday at 56.61 degrees longitude and 27.57 degrees latitude at the depth of 20 kilometers. No report is yet available on the possible casualties or damage to properties.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located at 8 kilometers from Takht, 15 kilometers from Qale Qazi, 41 kilometers from Sargaz, 53 kilometers from Bandar Abbas (capital of Hormuzgan province) and 305 kilometers from neighboring Kerman province.
