2,000-year old antiques seized in western Iran

'Following the process of arresting smugglers of the Iranian antiques, the protection unit was informed about a person who hides and trades antiques in Harsin county [44 km east of Kermanshah],' said Brigadier-General Amir Rahmatollahi.

'In a timely move, the police succeeded to find 106 antique items in his house,' said the official adding, 'The items included pottery Gilgamesh statues, rhytons, bronze bowls, coins, etc.'

He also said that the discovered items dated back to the Seleucid [312 BC–63 BC] and Parthian [247 BC–224 AD] eras.
