
Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani who was meeting his counterpart on the sidelines of the Second Meeting of Eurasian Parliaments Speakers in Seoul stressed the importance of organizing economic, trade, customs and financial cooperation among Eurasian countries.
He also said that Iran welcomes South Korea’s investment in various sectors, including energy, environment, railway.
Chung Sye-kyun, for his part, described the two countries' ties as developing, and said that the parliamentary ties will help broaden and supplement the ties of governmental and non-governmental sectors between Iran and South Korea.
Expressing South Korea’s readiness for cooperating with Iran in oil, gas, petrochemicals, clean energies and automobile industries, he added that Seoul believes that facilitating visa issuance and launching direct flights between the two countries are the basic steps for trade, economic ties expansion.
The two officials also urged solving the crises of the region through political ways and dialogue, and urged the necessity of talks to address the rising extremism danger in eastern Asia, including the Philippines.
