Iranian aid convoy sent to flood-stricken Sri Lanka

Iran's aid cargo has been sent to Matara and Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple in Sri Lanka, Iran’s embassy announced on Saturday.

Over 200 people were killed and 94 others went missing in Sri Lanka last week following a mudslide caused by territorial rains in the Indian Ocean island.

More than 100,000 Sri Lankans were also displaced after the worst rains in Sri Lanka since 2003.
