
During the meeting held in a very cordial and friendly ambience, Novoa stressed the need for strengthening bilateral ties in different fields and pinpointing new capacities for joint economic cooperation.
He further noted that Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the significant countries in the Middle East, which has made remarkable progress in various scientific and technological fields such as nanotechnology, biotechnology and stem cells and Uruguay is keen on enhancing its ties with Iran in different spheres, particularly in the economic and commercial fields.
Pasandideh, for his part, declared efforts to identify new capacities for cooperation between Iran and Uruguay and facilitating communications between the two countries’ state and private sectors as the most important priority during his mission in the country.
Uruguay is one of the major producers of agricultural and livestock products in Latin America, which has historic relations with Iran.
