President urges ‘peaceful solution’ in Syria

At a press conference held here on Monday with domestic and foreign media, President Rouhani stressed that the peace talks on Syria should be held in that country.

Commenting on the recent US missile attack on Syria that caused damage to the process of peace talks, Rouhani told reporters that the terrorists now want to have an upper hand in the negotiations after the assault.

About Iran’s cooperation with other countries on Syria, Rouhani noted that there is cooperation between Tehran, Moscow and Ankara, and also between Tehran, Moscow and Damascus to fight terrorism.

As the president noted, Iran and Russia have enjoyed good coordination in that issue, and the two sides ensured further coordination during his recent trip to Moscow in March.
