Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Esmail Kowsari, a member of the parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission, said the current status of sustained security in Iran results from the efforts made since the victory of the Islamic Revolution to strengthen the country’s arsenal of conventional military weapons.
He underlined that Iran will exploit its potential for progress in the missile industry, because the enemies have proven to be untrustworthy.
Iran is like an island of security and stability in the volatile Middle East region, Kowsari added, stressing that Tehran will not stop boosting its military power for a moment.
His comments came after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday underscored the need for boosting Iran’s defense capabilities, warning that enemies are making use of every tool available to undermine the Islamic Republic.
