
Bartolone made the remarks in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani in Tehran on Tuesday.
The French parliament speaker leading a parliamentary delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday night and was welcomed at the airport by Majlis second Vice Speaker Ali Motahari.
He is accompanied by the head of France-Iran parliamentary friendship group and members of France defense commission and foreign policy.
Bartolone thanked his Iranian counterpart for expressing condolence on recent terrorist incident in Nice of France which occurred in July and claimed many lives. The terrorist attack also led to the postponement of his visit to Iran which was due to be made earlier.
He said that his visit would also help removal of obstacles marring expansion of banking cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the exchange of visits between the Iranian and French parliaments would enable the two capitals to exchange views on various issues including the nuclear agreement, regional crisis and expansion of economic relations between the two countries.
Expansion of parliamentary relations would also help broaden ties between the two governments, he said stressing that the French parliament calls for maintaining and expansion of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Bartolone also said his meeting with Larijani has created suitable grounds to discuss issues of mutual interest.
The French parliament speaker's visit is to be concluded on Friday.
While in Iran, Bartolone is to confer with President Hassan Rouhani, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani on issues of mutual interests as well as regional developments.
