St. Petersburg Int’l Economic Forum general meeting starts

Discussing the main issues and the international economic and social challenges, conditions in Syria, Venezuela, North Korea are among topics which are supposed to be raised by leaders of Russia and China.

They are likely to reiterate their support for Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

During the meeting, Putin expressed regret over the US violation of the international agreements

He added that the current crises are rooted in West.

He also criticized the West for supporting their economy and waging trade war and economic chaos.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum started work with the presence of 140 countries namely the Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Zia Hashemi on Thursday.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a unique event in the world of business and economy. SPIEF has been held since 1997, and since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation, who has also attended each event.

Over the last 21 years, the Forum has become a leading global platform for members of the business community to meet and discuss the key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole.

The Chief Executive Officer of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and UN Secretary General António Guterres also attended the event.

IRNA chief is supposed to deliver speech in media conferences.
