
Addressing the meeting, Saber referred to all-out and long-standing relations between two countries, and said good measures have been taken as regard scientific and academic fields, but they are not satisfactory.
He also pointed to Iran’s valuable experiences in research and scientific fields, the large number of Iranian students and professors and also exchanging students and professors as the most important topics in reinforcing academic cooperation.
The Iranian envoy expressed readiness for holding joint courses and scientific conferences.
Alluding to signing MoU between Shahid Beheshti University and Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education and Science “Center for International Programs” (Bolashak), he extended Iran’s tendency to sign comprehensive and academic MoU during the upcoming visit of Iran's science minister to Kazakhstan.
In the meantime, Shamshidinova voiced her satisfaction over promoting scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.
Referring to good ranking of Kazakhstan's universities, she expressed readiness for exchanging students and professors and joint activities between research centers.
During the meeting, both sides discussed issues regarding Kazakhstan’s participation in Asia-Pacific Innovation Forum which is slated to be held in Tehran on June 10-12.
The Forum is jointly organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Vice Presidency for Science and Technology).
The theme of the Forum is "Technology Start-ups for Sustainable Development" in recognition of technology being a key means of implementation for the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Forum will be an opportunity to showcase the most innovative technology start-up initiatives, discover frontier technological advancements from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, and develop partnerships with other member-states so that the countries in the region can move forward together to face great opportunities and challenges the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
