President Rouhani calls for Muslim unity

'Unfortunately, the enemies of Islam by arming a group of criminals and terrorists under the name of Islam have drawn the sword against Islam and Muslims and make them confront each other,' President Rouhani said in a meeting with a groups of Azerbaijan's clerics and thinkers in Baku on Sunday night.

He, meantime, pointed to the status quo of Iran-Azerbaijan relations, and said, 'The strong bond of the two nations and governments is in the light of the same commonalities and if such commonalities did not exist, no propagation or policy could bring about the two brotherly nations together.'

'Common religion and culture are the source of trust and cooperation between Tehran and Baku,' President Rouhani added.
