Al-Assad: Future of region to be shaped by resisting nations

He made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of Iran's Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.

Future of the region will be shaped by those nations that made sacrifices in facing terrorism by protecting their countries and ensuring their independence, the Syrian president said.

Boroujerdi, for his part, said that Syria by its victory will redraw map of the entire region.

Syria Army successes are the result of Syrian people resistance against terrorism, the Iranian official said.

The two officials stressed that insistence of some countries on their irrational policies and their support for terrorist groups is not at the interest of their people and has led to spread of terrorism and instability in many countries.

During their meeting, Al-Assad and Boroujerdi stressed development of parliamentary cooperation and enhancement of all-out ties.
