In the meeting on Tuesday with of Morteza Saffari Natanzi, chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, Ahmet Halilovic referred to the long-standing relationship between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran, saying the two countries have good relations with each other, based on which bilateral relations can be expanded exponentially.
The high-ranking official went on to say that the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament and the government is welcoming the strengthening of bilateral relations, adding that Bosnia-Herzegovina is seeking to develop cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of commercial and economic affairs.
In addition to emphasizing the importance of economic and trade relations, he also called for the development of cooperation in the cultural and scientific fields.
Saffari Natanzi also referred to the friendly and long-standing relationship between Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina, saying that given such support, efforts should be made to strengthen these relations and reinforce communications between the two countries at various levels.
The MP emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran was one of the first countries to recognize and support the independence of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission highlighted that there are good and suitable grounds in different political, economic, commercial and cultural fields to expand relations between the two countries that can be used in the line with the interests of the two nations.
The Iranian official called the role of parliamentary friendship groups in facilitating and accelerating the ties of the countries as significant, and said that the two countries should make stronger their cooperation in the international community and provide the necessary support.
The Parliamentarian emphasized that “given the important and constructive role of the parliamentary friendship groups of Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina in promoting the parliamentary relations between the two countries and accelerating the cooperation of the two governments, the parliamentary friendship group of Iran and Bosnia Herzegovina in the parliament welcomes the exchange of delegation and talks with their counterparts in Bosnian parliament.
