A fishing trawler is a commercial fishing vessel designed to operate fishing trawls. Trawling is a method of fishing that involves actively dragging or pulling a trawl through the water behind one or more trawlers.
Ravankar said that 7 tons fish and 20 Iranian and foreign crew were also arrested.
IRGC has confiscated 6 fishing trawlers in the 4th district over the past 6 months.
The trawlers tended to transfer their poaching to sell in the Persian Gulf Littoral States’ market, he added.
He went on to say that 170,000 liter fuel and 650 kg narcotics were also discovered.
He reiterated that the fishing trawl makes irreparable damages to the aquaculture in the Persian Gulf so serious measures are taken to confront such crimes.
