No right for US to interfere in Syria: Iran spokesman

The US has no right to interfere in Syria and the presence of US in this country is illegal and against the international rules and on the contrary with the Syrian government's point of view, Bahram Qasemi said in his weekly press briefing.

He made the remarks in reaction to the US demand from Iran to quit Syria as precondition to Washington support for reconstruction of the war-torn country.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted that the US is misusing the issues of humanitarian aids and reconstruction of Syria for political purposes.

The people's life and their destiny are not important for the US and they are just used as political leverage, Qasemi said.

He noted that Iran's presence in Syria is not related to the US and Tehran will continue presence in the war-torn country till Damascus has such demand from Tehran.

The US is interested in return of terrorism to Syria, Qasemi said.
