Iranian police seize over 265 tons of narcotics in 4 months

Deputy Head of Iran's Anti-Drug Headquarters Asadollah Hadinejad said the figure shows 6.5 percent increase compared with the same period last year.

He added that the seized narcotics included 711 kg of hashish, 450 kg of heroin, 160 kg of morphine, 18 kg of methamphetamine, 35,480 of hallucinating tablets and other types of illicit drugs and precursors.

Recently, Commander of the Iranian border guards Brigadier General Qasem Rezaee said most of the narcotic drugs come to Iran illegally through the borders with Pakistan.

Regarding the fact that many Afghans enter Iran through the southeast borders, he said the border lines in the east of Iran are ' long, tough, and high' and under surveillance 24/7, but still such things may happen.

All in all, mischief and drug trafficking is much more on the other side of the borders, said General Qasemi.
