Mohammad-Reza Mansouri and Reza Sokhandan are going to be his assistants in the tournament. Mohammad-Reza Abolfazli will also serve as the fourth official in the matches.
The Iranian international referee was chosen to officiate the 3rd place game at 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia between Belgium and England.
Faghani's appointment followed his brilliant performance in the tournament, especially as the referee of the most sensitive game between France and Argentina in the Round of 16.
Faghani had already refereed important matches such as the 2014 AFC Champions League Final, the 2015 AFC Asian Cup Final, the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup Final, the 2016 Olympic football final match. He has also refereed matches in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
