The seized haul contains 450 kilograms of opium, 50 kilograms of hashish, 33 kilograms of heroin and 17 kilograms of other narcotics, said Brigadier General Jafar Hosseini.

Saying that five heavy and light vehicles were also seized in the operation, he added, 'Since the beginning of the [Iranian] year [starting March 20] more than 5,000 kilograms of narcotics have been found in the province.

He also said that in the same period more than 5,000 homeless addicts were settled.
