Germany stands ready to provide support to Iran in restoring its economy and good trade relations as long as Tehran complies with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as the Iran nuclear deal, Maas was quoted as saying at the Global Solutions Summit held in Berlin on Tuesday.
'We will continue to make efforts to fulfill Iran's hopes for economic recovery and good trade relations as long as Iran is ready and able to prove that it adheres to its obligations under the nuclear deal,' he added.
Maas earlier reiterated Europe's determination to remain a part of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal even after the US withdrawal from the landmark agreement.
US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
