According to the Yemeni TV channel Al-Masirah, the missile fired at the city was of the type Badr.
This is while the Saudi media claimed that the Saudi Royal Aerial Defense ‘Patriot’ has intercepted the missile fired from Yemen to Jizan.
Southern city of Jizan is located 244 kilometers from the capital city Riyadh and borders with Yemen, within the shooting range of the Yemeni missiles.
Meanwhile, Yemeni media reported on Thursday night that Asir province in southwest Saudi Arabia was targeted by the missile unit of the Yemeni army and popular committees.
The Yemeni army and popular committees have intensified missile attacks on Saudi Arabian positions since March 25.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia in cooperation with some other Arab states launched a military aggression against Yemen after blockading the country from air, sea and land in a bid to return to power the deposed Yemeni president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The aggression of the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen has had no military gains for the aggressors but has brought destruction, famine and displacement of people for the impoverished nation.
