Int’l lawyer criticizes US illogical policies toward Iran deal

[US nominee for secretary of state Mike Pompeo] Pompeo says Iran wasn't racing to a nuclear weapon before the Iran Deal [otherwise known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)] and is not going to race to a weapon if US leaves the deal,” Reza Nasri said Friday in a Twitter message.

“Then why insist so much on banning Iran's missiles if there is not going to be a warhead? Why 'fix' the deal to include Iran's conventional arms?,” he added.

The US administration has done a great deal over past year to kill Iran nuclear deal.

Trump is expected to announce his decision regarding suspending sanctions against Iran and continuing the implementation of the JCPOA on May 12.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already confirmed ten times Iran's commitment to the landmark July 2015 international deal.

Commenting on the same statements by Pompeo, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a Twitter message on Friday said, “U.S. moral bankruptcy on full display in CIA chief's admission of U.S. policy: in the past Iran was sanctioned over false claims that it sought nuclear weapons. Now, sanctions must be reimposed because we seek no nukes?”
