
The products were transported from Central Asian countries to Bandar Abbas, Razi border in Turkey and Mirjaveh border in Pakistan and had 63% growth compared with the same period last year, director general of Khorasan railways Mohammad Hadi Ziaei told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday.
The most active transit corridor of Iran is Sarakhs-Bandar Abbas railway, he added.
82% of the transits were done through Sarakhs this year, he noted.
Sarakhs is a city in and capital of Sarakhs County, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. Sarakhs was once a stopping point along the Silk Road, and in its 11th century heyday had many libraries and a famous school of architects.
