Mild quake jolts southern Iran

According to the Seismological Center affiliated to the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 20:06 hours local time 17 kilometers from Assalouyeh at the depth of 18 kilometers underground.

Director General of Bushehr Crisis Management Department Qasem Qaedi said that no damage to life or property has so far been reported.

Evaluating teams are to be dispatched to the cities of Assalouyeh and Jam for further investigation.

Assalouyeh is home to South Pars installations at a distance of 285 kilometers south of Bushehr.
