Iranian relief foundation, Vatican stress importance of helping poor

During the meeting on Wednesday, Fattah said that IKRF do its best to address the problems of the underprivileged by relying on cooperation of the government, Majlis(parliament) and people.

IKRF is active in all rural and deprived regions across the country and it helps the poor to find jobs, get married and go to school, the official said.

He referred to the historical ties between Iran and Vatican and said boosting bilateral ties with Vatican is on the agenda of Iran's government.

Fattah pointed to the religious commonalities between Iran and Vatican and called for using these commonalities to enhance cooperation between the two states.

President of the Pontifical Council for the Family for his part said that working for the poor has no limitations.

We can show the world how important is engagement, altruism and helping the poor, he said.

Vatican churches help the poor across 350 cities in the world, regardless of their religion, Paglia said.

Paglia arrived in Iran on Sunday for an official visit to the Islamic Republic, returning a 2015 visit by Iranian Vice-President for Women and Family Shahindokth Molaverdi.

On Monday, June 13th, Archbishop Paglia met with Vice-President Molaverdi in Tehran.
