Ryabkov, also senior nuclear negotiator of Russia, underlined the significance of JCPOA, saying that it is an invaluable pattern for solving global issues.
Noting that he opposed to undermine the deal by US President Donald trump while most of the global community are backing the deal, he said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is the only authority to verify Iran’s nuclear activities.
Schmid, for her part, said, “We had wide-scale cooperation during Iran’s nuclear negotiations.”
Describing JCPOA as a very balanced deal, she said that only the IAEA is responsible for verifying Iran’s nuclear program.
The fact Trump did not certify Iran’s compliance with the JCPOA is a domestic issue of the US, she said.
EU deputy foreign policy chief pointed out that the EU will expand trade cooperation with Iran and the collaboration is taking place despite the US domestic debates.
She contended that Iran’s missile program falls outside the JCPOA and it has nothing to do with it and it should be discussed under another topic.
International Nuclear Disarmament Meeting was held in Moscow with over 200 officials and experts specializing in nuclear energy, atomic safety and preventing proliferation of nuclear arms from different countries in attendance.
