
Jahangiri arrived in Ankara on Wednesday evening to attend the Developing 8 (D8) Summit which is to be held on Friday in the northwestern Turkish city of Istanbul.
About D8, Jahangiri told reporters that it has been formed for boosting economic cooperation among eight Islamic countries, noting that the event will open in Istanbul on Friday.
Fortunately, there are good prospects for collaboration among the eight countries, as they have set a target to raise their exchanges to $ 500bn, he said upon arrival in the Turkish capital.
Jahangiri also said that he will discuss with senior Turkish officials issues of bilateral interests.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari and Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Valliollah Seif are among the senior officials accompanying Jahangiri during his trip.
