Iran, Russia stress countering violence, terrorism, extremism

'Increasing defensive powers of the two countries in order to stabilize peace and security in the peripheral, regional and international environments is among the priorities' of the two sides both countries, said Brigadier General Amir Hatami of Iran.

He noted that US lack of commitment to the Iran-G5+1 landmark 2015 nuclear deal will move the world towards insecurity.

'US anger and its pressure on Iran are due to the fact that the cooperation between Iran and Russia against international terrorism, especially in Syria, has neutralized US various and dangerous plans in the region', Hatami said.

He added that the Islamic Republics Guards Corps (IRGC) is the strong arm of Iran, regional countries and nations to fight against terrorism and nothing can stop the IRGC from doing its responsibility.

Meanwhile, the Russian minister of defense urged the need to have more bilateral cooperation to fight international and regional terrorism.

General Sergey Shoygu said Iran's compliance with the nuclear deal is affirmed by Russia and there is no need for other parties to quit the deal.
