
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 2017 Annual joint meeting of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
In his meeting with Indian Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley, Karbasian expressed Iran's readiness to host joint commission meeting in early 2018.
He pointed to using $ 450m credits of India to develop Chabahar Port and also to establish cooperation in transportation field.
He also expressed interest in granting some Iranian projects to India and also in solving financial problems.
Meanwhile, Jaitley welcomed promoting cooperation with Iran in various field.
During the meeting, both sides stressed on establishing banking cooperation.
In the meeting between Karbasian and Afghan Minister of Finance Eklil Ahmad Hakimi, both sides underscored the strategic importance of the region and also the role of two countries in removing some economic barriers.
Karbasian stressed on organizing trade exchanges and customs cooperation.
Both sides also discussed finalizing railways projects and connecting Afghanistan to western Iran and then to Europe.
Meanwhile, Hakimi pointed to creating joint work groups in different fields.
Karbasian attended the joint meeting of World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington. He also took part in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development, also known as G-24, attended by heads and ministers of the member countries.
Iran, Pakistan, The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Lebanon (from Asia), Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago (from Latin America and South Africa), Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Congo, Ivory Coast and Ghana (from Africa) are members of G-24. China, Saudi Arabia and Morocco participated in the meeting of G-24 as observers.
